Our team has worked with Dr. Wornum this year on topics such as understanding implicit bias, how to define cultural proficiency, how to respond to microaggressions, and how to set district expectations around equity. In addition to her keynote session, Dr. Wornum will be providing two workshops on combatting microaggressions and unconscious bias.
Session 1 8:00-9:30 Keynote Defining Cultural Proficiency Educators will gain a clear understanding of the definition and theory of cultural proficiency while learning practical classroom applications. Student Data Strand
Looking at Student Data with iReady (K-8)
Using Data to Plan Instruction prepares educators to use effective data practices as they analyze their own students’ data from the first Diagnostic. Using a process for data analysis, educators uncover new insights and information about student performance using enhanced placement levels and/or the Prerequisites report to inform and prioritize unfinished learning. Educators also begin to plan for instructional scaffolds by targeting skills and resources to maximize students’ access to grade-level content. As time permits, educators explore critical steps for monitoring and managing Personalized Instruction and/or how to engage students in the goal setting through data chats.
Outcome: Analyze and use data to identify unfinished learning and strategically plan next steps for instruction.
Agenda:
Celebrations
I- Ready Reports including the family report.... and a data analysis looking at class diagnostic report and pairing with actionable steps

This workshop identifies the specific areas and skills involved in executive functioning, methods of assessment, and how we can effectively address this challenging area for students. This workshop will review how anxiety affects student behavior and performance, and strategies that can be employed to help students effectively manage the demands of school and home.
