ADHD and Executive Function in Schools
Instructor: Brendan Mahan Date: October 27, 2014 Location: Miscoe
Objectives: Inclusive Practices with regard to Executive Function/ADHD.
The workshop will begin with an overview of the various elements of executive function: Working Memory, Impulse Control , Planning / Prioritizing, Emotion Control, Organization, Sustained Attention , Time Management, Task
Initiation , Metacognition, Goal-directed Persistence, and Flexibility. It will then move into the ways in which the success of students with executive functioning challenges is limited as a result of impairments in these areas and the emotional impact this lack of success can have on those students. From there, the workshop will move on to classroom
strategies that can be used to address the needs of those with executive function impairments.

ready made presentations using the SMART Exchange website. In addition, you'll learn how to download these presentations and customize them to make them fit your classroom needs.

Description: This workshop will provide an overview of the features of Edmodo. it will be a hands-on opportunity for educators to create Edmodo accounts, set-up classes and learn how to integrate it into the classroom to foster collaboration with students.

You will leave knowing how to create a contact form, add photos & links to external website or files. you will be able to create a photo slideshow, embed videos from YouTube, embed your Google calendar and embed other things (Countdown calendars, etc. - please bring links). Please have at least on picture, one .pdf or work file and the address to one website that you'd like to have a link available to you while in the class (in your H: Drive or Google Drive).

appropriate for every age and learning level, correlated to Commor Core Standards, searchable by keyword, subject, topic, grade and curriculum standard. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to explore the brand new features
including the Teacher Center and Learning Tools. These activities will give you a basic understanding of Discovery Education and help you understand how it can be used in your classroom. In the session, we will present student projects using and integrating video clips. Find out what 40,000 schools and over 11,000,000 students and teachers already know—Discovery Education works!
