Information Literacy and AI (4-12) with Brandon Hall
Room: G217 Information literacy is the ability to find, evaluate, organize, use, and communicate information in all its various formats, most notably in situations requiring decision making, problem solving, or the acquisition of knowledge. Reflection in Project-Based Learning (3-12) with Nick Cuomo Room: B239
Reflection is the process by which we make meaning of our experiences. In Project Based Learning, students need opportunities to pause, consider the work and learning they are doing, make connections, and ask new questions. In this workshop, we will learn about the importance of reflection, and consider how to make space and time for intentional and purposeful reflection within our projects. Educators who are enrolled in our district-wide book study of Unlocking English Learners’ Potential, or who need PDPs in SEI for licensure and would like to join us, are welcome to gather together and use this time to collaboratively tackle one or more of the parts of the Google Classroom assignments. Room B309 Providing all students with the opportunity to be successful and included in all aspects of school is our goal. By effectively creating a model that increases inclusion opportunities for all students requires a strong co-teaching structure that includes tiered supports built in for all students. This workshop includes a 50-minute video and time to discuss and plan, and can be useful for teachers, student support providers and paraprofessionals - not just co-teachers. Educators who want more time with their colleagues to share what they accomplished in the morning session, and take next steps towards reviewing and self-assessing curriculum maps, can use this time to continue to work collaboratively. To sign up you have to have at least one other person in your grade or department that you sign up with.
