This Friday is a half-day PD day. Our district themes for PD will be a continued focus on 1) Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and 2) Imagining September: Unfinished Learning and Preparing for Next Year. The PD time will be building-based with a mixture of Zoom sessions (for the EDI work) and in-person meetings/zoom for the departmental/grade level work. Teachers are expected to stay in the buildings for the PD portion of the day. Below is an overview of the sessions. Paraprofessionals are welcome, but not required to join us in the PD sessions.

Session 1: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Vision, Beliefs, and Self-Assessment
Teachers will review the district's draft vision, beliefs, and expectations for equity, diversity, and inclusion. In breakout groups, the draft vision and beliefs will be discussed and groups will outline what it would look like in our schools if this vision was in place. Then teachers will take the following checklist on their own, and then discuss with colleagues overarching school strengths and areas for growth, which will drive our action plans for next year.
All members of the school communities should be participating in Session 1 together at the building level.

Session 2: Imagining September: Unfinished Learning and Preparations for Next Year
The goal of this session is for teachers to have time to discuss curriculum needs, assessment data, to better prepare for next year. Teachers will meet in departments/grade levels and complete the DESE pre-requisite standards document (when applicable) to identify progress this year towards meeting pre-requisite standards. Teachers will also review the scope and sequence in Atlas to determine any adjustments to scope and sequence for next year. Additionally, iReady data, Panorama SEL data, and other assessment data will help teams to identify needs for next year. Departments and grade levels will develop a rough "map for September" to address any known skills/content gaps to prioritize next year.
Additional PD Sessions and Information:
1. MS/HS Counselors will be in full-day training on Yoga DBT
2. 1:15-2:15 Marabeth Ishler/Kathy Deschenes' teachers/staff will meet on transition of students at Miscoe
3. 2:00-2:30 Related Service Providers will meet with Jen D'Angelo on digital library. She will send the link to this group. The remaining times they should participate in the Session 1 building-based EDI discussions. During Session 2 they should work on medicaid, treatment plans, ORRF, and documented services. Description Y-CBT: Yoga Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Y-CBT) for Teens is a 6-session group
treatment program that can help to reduce stress, anxiety and depression, while increasing self-
esteem and improving communication in Teens. This research-based psychotherapy model weaves
together the scientifically documented effects of yoga and meditation with traditional cognitive
behavioral therapeutic techniques. With this model, Teens can learn and incorporate new ways of
thinking and shift their automatic physical responses to the challenges and stressors in their lives by
targeting symptoms of anxiety and stress in both mind and body.
Description of the Training:
Clinicians completing this 3 part training will:
Gain a theoretical and research-based understanding of the Y-CBT treatment model
Learn the techniques and strategies necessary to lead the 6 sessions of Y-CBT for Teens
Practice the skills and concepts learned in order to effectively lead the 6 sessions of Y-
CBT for Teens.
Receive all materials necessary for leading the 6 Session Y-CBT for Teens program
