Mentor Training
Instructor: Maureen Cohen Dates: November 21 Time: 8-2 Location: Nipmuc, Gathering Rm
Description: This is the required Introduction to Mentoring training required of all active mentors. All mentors have to have been trained within 5 years of current mentoring. It is also available for anyone who is interested in being a mentor in the future. This session is open to anyone looking to learn more about mentoring colleagues.
Session 1: The world of a new teacher and how to enrich the mentor relationship
This session will provide the participants with a better understanding of the phases new teachers go through and the various learning stages they might be in, and the appropriate responses to their needs. It also will develop mentoring skills in active listening, confidentiality, and how to have mentoring conversations about problems of practice.
Session 2: Adult learning
This session will provide participants with some of the research around teacher behaviors in various adult learning stages and how to approach various mentoring scenarios based on the new teacher's learning stage.
Session 3: Observations and feedback
This session will provide training on how to conduct peer observations, pre-conference meetings, and post-conference meetings. It will outline the types of data that one can observe within a classroom observation and share types of strategies for providing peer feedback.
Google Classroom

Objectives: To successfully utilize all features of the stream in Google Classroom
Description: This workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to explore all elements of the stream in Google Classroom. Participants will create assignments, design announcements, develop discussion questions, and learn how to share resources across courses.

Go Math-Differentiated Instruction
Instructor: Amy Henderson Date: Wednesday, October 12 Time: 3:30-4:30 Location: Memorial ES, Room 312
Objectives: To differentiate math instruction using the Go Math resources
Description: This session will explore the different components of Go Math and how they will best meet the various learning needs of students.

Lexia
Instructor: Kristen Poisson Date: November 15 Time: 8:00-9:00 Location: Memorial ES, Room 206
Objectives: Ask questions regarding the use of Lexia with their classes; Hear the ways in which other teachers are utilizing the program; Discuss the scope and sequence of the program.
